Causes

On September 11th, 2001, New York City became the target of an act of terrorism, which sent two hijacked commercial airliners into the World Trade Center.  Our daughter, Jennifer Lynn Kane, age 26, was an employee of Marsh & McLennan working on the 100th floor of the north tower.  Jennifer was a 1997 graduate of the College of Commerce and Finance at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.  She was a Certified Public Accountant who was genuinely admired as a committed employee, mentor, and loving family person.  Jennifer touched many lives and continues to do so.  100% of all donations during 2022 will be donated in Jen’s memory to the causes listed below.

Homes For Our Troops is a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted custom homes for severely injured veterans post 9/11.  Proceeds will be donated toward construction of a home for CWO2 Rebecca Mann who sustained injuries while in Afghanistan which resulted in the loss of both feet.  To view her impressive bio visit www.hfotusa.org/Mann or call Jamie Crossman at (508) 967-9748.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island grants the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions while offering a beacon of hope, renewed strength, and newfound optimism for brighter days.  The average cost for one wish is $10,000.  Our goal is to distribute funds to the Foundation to grant a wish in Jennifer’s memory.  For more information visit www.massri.wish.org or call (617) 367-WISH.

School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA) is a non-profit organization that provides one on one mentoring and tutoring for homeless children in grades kindergarten – college.  They provide resources such as backpacks filled with school supplies and books.  They also help homeless teens pursue a college degree by assisting with the college process, supplies, textbooks and other fees.  For more information contact www.sowma.org or call Steve Telesmanick at (508) 587-9091.
